It’s Tuesday Try On! Shopping for clothes is not fun for everyone. It can be super stressful so sometimes women stick to what they know, even though they don’t love it and/or it doesn’t fit. In fact, one of the biggest struggles I hear from clients is that trying on clothes is frustrating and confusing so they don’t go shopping.  I believe that what you wear matters because it reflects how you feel about yourself and what I hear from clients is that it makes a HUGE difference.  My goal when working with clients is to help them find clothes that feel great, fit within their budget, and are flattering.

What’s really frustrating is there is no one sizing standard. Even within a store that has two brands the sizing may vary. You may find that one size in one brand will fit you perfectly and the same size in another brand won’t fit at all.  To help show how various sizes fit I ordered some items from Ann Taylor for Tuesday Try On so I could show and share how items fit.  For reference I am 5’4” and I typically wear a size 16 and XL.

Items I tried for Tuesday Try On:

⚜️ Floral Mixed Media Ruffle Top is a great neutral top with a small floral print that contains ivory, camel, black and maroon. This top was a lightweight material, fit well, didn’t gap under my arms and had a stretchy material on the back.  Tried XL

⚜️ Bow Neck Shell Top ran on the larger side but the arm holes were not too big, it was a slightly heavier material and was a little long in the front and back. Tried XL

⚜️ Animal Print Mixed Media Pleat Top fit perfectly, was a lightweight fabric. Tried XL

⚜️ High Waist Wide Leg Pants fit perfectly in the waist, were a little long in the length, and were a fabulous lightweight fabric. Tried 18

⚜️ Animal Print Pleated Hem Skirt fit really well in the waist, zip and clasp closure, and was a nice lightweight fabric. Tried 18

As you can see from my Tuesday Try On with Ann Taylor most items fit well, one top was too long in the waist and the pants were a little long in the leg. I could order the petite sizes to see if that helps. I have tried on items from Ann Taylor before and sometimes they work and sometimes they don’t. This time most items were perfect.
