Confession time: I’ve probably said and written, “Small shifts lead to big impact,” more times than I’ve had client appointments this year, and that’s saying something. But here’s the thing: it’s 100% true. And more importantly? It’s doable. You don’t need a massive makeover. Most of the time, it takes a few smart tweaks to how you show up. Here are four great ways to get started. You can choose just one, then add another the following week or month, and so on.

1. Wear Clothes That Reflect the Message You Want to Send

What you wear is a signal to yourself and others. Every day, you can make a choice to get dressed with intention and control how you want to feel. What energy do you want to show up with, and how do you want others to remember you?”

Whether you’re meeting a client, running errands, or hopping on a Zoom call, your outfit can set the tone. You don’t need to wear “fancy” clothes or wear a blazer, but you do need to show up in a way that feels polished and intentional.

✨ Mini shift: Choose one outfit this week that feels like the next-level version of you. Let me know if you notice any changes in how you’re showing up.

2. Say Goodbye to “Blah” Outfits

I know you have a sweater, a pair of pants or jeans, maybe even a top that feels “meh” when you put it on. You may even put it on, notice it, take it off, and put something else on, depending on the day and how quickly you need to get out the door. I get it. You’re wearing it because you get dressed on autopilot. Here’s your permission to let go of those pieces. Retire them and make a list of what you need to replace those pieces with something new. You’re worth the investment, and the way you feel in your clothes directly affects how you carry yourself, speak up, and engage.

✨ Mini shift: Try the “frump test.” If you don’t feel at least a 7/10 in what you’re putting on, swap it for something else or move it to the giveaway pile.

3. Make the Weekend Count

It doesn’t matter if you’re an entrepreneur, a leader, or a manager, building your business, or something else, your brand doesn’t turn off when Friday rolls around. Whether you’re traveling, walking the dog, grabbing coffee, or at your kiddos’ baseball game, you could be standing next to a potential client.

✨ Mini shift: Replace your worn-out “_______” with a classic piece that will stand the test of time. For example, instead of sweats or athletic wear, you could swap a graphic tee, jeans, or casual pants and pair them with sneakers. I get that you want to be comfortable, and it’s possible now with a variety of brands and styles. You can have the best of both worlds and show up more aligned with a few small tweaks.

4. Create a Consistent Signature Style

Having a go-to look doesn’t mean it has to be boring. You want to find ways to make it easy and be memorable. What you wear is a visual elevator pitch. When you show up consistently, people will remember you. Consistency also builds trust.

✨ Mini shift: Choose 2–3 brand words (like confident, elevated, trustworthy). Build your wardrobe with pieces that help you reflect the words you choose.
